Welcome to the Fellowship of Christian Interpreters

Fellowship of Christian Interpreters

We are:

Church-independent non-denominational fellowship of interpreters who believe in God of the Bible and share Christian values. Everyone interested in advanced English and Christianity is welcome to be a part of our meetings and study.

Our goals are:

To glorify God our Creator and Savior.

To increase our level of fluency in every aspect of English: pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, etc.

To grow in the knowledge of God's Word; raise, bring up and build a strong team or skillful Bible-believing Interpreters to multiply our effort of furthering God's work on this planet.

...that they may all be one; even as you, Father, are in me and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you sent me. (John 17:21)

To edify and encourage one another in the spirit of love and mutual appreciation, get to know each other in more personal way and promote friendship beyond denominational borders, so that we may fulfill the desire of Jesus.

Our guidelines are:

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. (John 13:35)

Since this is not a church, we do not pursue the goal to resemble or substitute any of the existing churches. Rather, to strengthen friendship between lay members of different churches and denominations.

Since our goal is to glorify God, we rely on Holy Spirit to lead us and depend on Him to make these fellowships worthwhile and meaningful.

Since our goal is to improve our language fluency, almost everything should be going on in English. Although we do not refuse to go back to Russian if there will arise an obvious need for it.

...the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. (1 Timothy 1:5)

Since our goal is to improve our English, we do understand that we're not perfect at it. So we'll bring attention to one another's linguistic mistakes and will correct each other in the spirit of love.

...Helper, the Holy Spirit... He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. (John 14:26)

Since our goal is to master Christian translation, we understand, that no matter how hard we try or how smart we are, we still sometimes fall short of what could have been called 'the perfect translation'. So we depend on our Helper Holy Spirit to lead us along the way.

Since our goal is to grow in God's Word, we understand our personal responsibility to study Bible regularly on our own. Definitely, once in a while meetings are not enough to get us anywhere.

Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification. (1 Corinthians 14:26)

...whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. (Ephesians 4:16)

Since our goal is edification, each person may, and as a matter of fact, should, teach in turns that everyone would get an opportunity to share something that would be helpful to all of us.

Warn them before God against quarrelling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. (2 Timothy 2:14)

Since our goal is unity and encouragement, though each one is free to express his/her own views on the subject discussed, we will not engage in doctrinal controversy.

Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way. (Romans 14:13)

Since our goal is edification, we will not put an obstacle or an occasion to fall in our brother's way.

Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, to his edification. (Romans 15:2)

Since our goal is mutual appreciation, we won't try to usurp a higher position one over another, but rather, we'll look for the ways in which we can help each other.

So then let us pursue the things which make for peace and the building up of one another. (Romans 14:19)
